Context
An Italian manufacturer had acquired a number of companies in a relatively short space of time. This had resulted in multiple disparate IT environments and a staff of over 200 within the IT function.
Consolidated reporting was done manually and multiple business process sets supported by different environments made it impossible for the business to achieve any economies of scale as expected through the acquisitions.
Solution
A full review of the key business processes in relation to IT platforms, hardware, IT staff, software development and maintenance costs was carried out.
The capacity of the existing infrastructure and the business needs was assessed.
Recommendations and a plan was developed for consolidating all IT related operations.
